A food-reviewer on TikTok went viral for posting his rating of Gordon Ramsay and Guy Fieri’s store-bought frozen lasagnas. After comparing both he found a clear winner, yet viewers say that Stouffer’s lasagna will always be the best overall choice.

Jason (@eatoutwithjason) has reached over 635,000 views and 30,000 likes on his video by Wednesday. He says he will continue to review other frozen lasagna brands after the success of his video.

In it, Jason says he went to Walmart to specifically try the new Guy Fieri frozen lasagna. When he made his way to the frozen aisle, he found that there was also a new Gordon Ramsay frozen lasagna.

“Made by the same company, for the same price,” he says. Both lasagnas were listed at $5.94.

Jason says he is going to buy both so he can decide which is better. He added a Stouffer’s lasagna for “comparison purposes.” The original Stouffer’s lasagna was sold for $3.48.

Once Jason returns home, he cooks all three lasagnas and says he is going to start with Stouffers. “Think that’s the constant that we all have had before,” he adds.

After taking a bite, he says Stouffers has “always been there for us.” In an on-screen caption, Jason gives the audience some information on Stouffer's history. He wrote that Stouffer’s started as a creamery in Cleveland in 1898, and also started the frozen food division in 1946.

“Pretty good meat, good sauce,” he says, “but I’m gonna give the Stouffers a solid 8,” out of 10.

Next, Jason tries the Guy Fieri lasagna. This frozen meal is labeled as “Cheesy Lasagna with Pepperoni.”

Before trying the lasagna Jason says, “If I’m gonna be honest, It does not look fantastic,” as he records the frozen meal in front of him. After taking his first bite, he says that the “Pepperoni is very overpowering.”

He adds that, “It’s good, but I feel like they tried to do too much with it, there’s a lot of flavors jumping over each other.”

Continuing his on-screen history facts, Jason writes that Guy Fieri is “arguably the single greatest influence of our generation, an absolute saint that we don’t deserve, showing all of us the greatest diners, drive-ins, and dives.”

Jason said the Stouffers lasagna beat Guy Fieri’s by “quite a bit.” He rated Guy Fieri’s lasagna a 6.7/10. “Sorry, Guy, I still love you,” he adds.

Then he records Gordon Ramsay’s frozen meal. “This one looks the neatest,” he says before taking his first bite. “That was a nice cut,” he adds.

Jason’s on-screen fact for Ramsay says, “Chef Ramsay yells at people.”

He also adds that Ramsay’s lasagna tasted the most like a bolognese sauce. “I think it’s got the best flavors, it’s balanced, the cheese is a good, whipped-creamy texture,” he adds.

Before ending his video, Jason says this is “one of the better frozen TV dinners I’ve had,” and rates Ramsay’s lasagna at a 8.6/10.

Yet Jason captioned his video, “Name a better value than Stouffer's family size.”

Most viewers agree in the comment section saying things like, “Stouffers is the GOAT.”

“For almost half the price, and only .6 difference in comparison,” referring to his rating of Ramsay’s lasagna, “I’d think that Stouffer’s is the better deal,” another comment says.

Other viewers say Jason’s video helped them choose what dinner to buy next, and ask him to keep posting food review videos.

“I really love that you include the facts! You’re not just simply rating. Makes it more fun to watch bro, keep it up!” one says.

Another told Jason, “I NEED MORE LASAGNA REVIEWS, try the Lean Cuisine, the Marie Callenders, ALL OF EM.” Jason responded to this comment saying, “I accept this responsibility and will now be reviewing lasagna all winter.”

‘I wish every brand did small containers like this’: Walmart customer shows you can now buy purse hot sauces for $1 https://www.dailydot.com/news/walmart-1-dollar-purse-hot-sauces/ Sat, 18 Nov 2023 00:30:00 +0000 https://www.dailydot.com/?p=1435641 Walmart customer shows you can now buy purse hot sauces for $1

A TikTok creator posted a viral video discovering the new dollar hot sauce section at Walmart. Viewers say this was perfect timing for the holidays.

Sarah (@heysarri) has received over 289,000 views and 29,000 likes on her video as of publication.

She captioned her video, "PURSE HOT SAUCE."

At the start of her video, Sarah says, "I'm in Walmart right now, and I don't mean to be dramatic, but they just made my dreams come true."

Next, Sarah records an entire display of sauces marked at just $1.00. It read, "Hot and Spicy, $1 sauces," on the display board.

"They have an entire display of hot sauces," she continues, "all different flavors."

Then, while zooming in on a specific "Blues Hog" original sauce, Sarah says, "They have barbecue sauce too!"

Lastly, before ending her video, Sarah adds, "This is the best idea I've seen a store come up with in a very long time, so amazing."

Not all Walmarts seem to carry the $1 sauces yet, but Sarah says she was at a Walmart location in Saugus, Massachusetts.

"Found it today," one comment says, "Bought all the Melinda's."

Another comment admits they're going to stock up on the sauces for the holidays. "Everyone is getting hot sauce for the holidays," the comment reads.

"Oooo good secret Santa gift," another adds.

"I saw these yesterday and was so excited that I bought 8 tiny hot sauce bottles, lol," another says. Sarah responds, saying, "I support you, I almost did the same. I'll be going back for more though."

Viewers also tell Sarah that other stores carry $1 mini hot sauces.

One says, "World Market does this too. More expensive but fancier brands. Great way to try expensive products."

One last viewer warns the audience about how to store your hot sauces once purchased. "Remember to refrigerate those after y'all open then," the comment says, "mine grew mold in my purse."

‘She absolutely was shooting her shot’: Wife’s friend DMs husband while they’re separated. Was it appropriate? https://www.dailydot.com/news/wifes-friend-dms-husband-on-facebook/ Thu, 16 Nov 2023 22:30:00 +0000 https://www.dailydot.com/?p=1434906 woman speaking with caption "when he and I separated" (l) bridesmaid at wedding (c) woman speaking with caption "she sent him a long message about how she's so sorry for what he's going through" (r)

A wife posted a viral TikTok sharing how her friend sent her husband a direct message (DM) while they were separated. She asks viewers if her reaction to the news is irrational or valid.

The TikToker, @spizzlemethis, received nearly 700,000 views and over 67,000 likes on her video by Thursday morning.

She begins her video by saying she is sharing the story because she wants to know if she is being "crazy or irrational, or if I'm onto something."

She starts giving backstory, explaining how she and her husband are working on reconciling their marriage. The TikToker had filed for divorce earlier this year, and she and her husband were separated for a while. The divorce has now been dismissed, and she says they are working on their marriage, "which is great," she adds.

Next, she says while they were separated, one of their friends DMed her husband on Facebook. She explains that the woman is the "on-again, off-again" girlfriend of one of her husband's close friends. "She and I were friends; she and my husband really didn't talk that much, but she and I would message back and forth on Facebook," she says.

"She's also divorced and has kids," she adds. "She was mainly my friend," not her husband's.

When the TikToker and her husband separated, she says her friend messaged her husband and "sent him a long message about how she's so sorry for what he's going through and if he needs any advice, you know she's been, there and she can give it to him."

The TikToker says her husband responded, "Hey actually, I think my wife actually needs someone to talk to right now, so you might wanna reach out to her and see how she's doing."

"She never messaged me," she explains.

Once she and her husband started reconciling, he told her that her friend had messaged him.

When she found this out, @spizzlemethis decided to message her friend herself. "I was short, but I was not rude; I wasn't condescending; I wasn't insulting," she adds.

The TikToker says she messaged her friend, saying, "It really doesn't sit well with me how you only messaged my husband when he and I were separated, and he told you directly that I needed somebody, and you never reached out to me, so I think it's best if we just weren't friends going forward."

She says her friend apologized, and she decided to just let it go.

"She then messaged my husband and was like, 'Hey, I'm really sorry if I got between the two of you. I definitely wasn't trying to shoot my shot,'" she recounts.

The TikToker adds that her friend put "shoot my shot" in quotation marks in her direct message. "I never said that in my message. I never even mentioned saying that she was trying to get him. I literally just said it doesn't sit well with me," she adds.

Next, after her conversation with her ex-friend, her husband posts a picture of their son on Facebook. "This morning," she says, "I notice there's three comments on it that I can't see."

"So, I asked my brother to go look and see who had commented on it that I couldn't see," she says. "This girl blocked me on Facebook," she adds.

She says she unfriended the girl on Facebook herself but did not block her. "She blocked me after I unfriended her, and she commented on this post of pictures of my son," she adds.

"Is it weird? Does anybody else find it weird?" she asks before ending her video.

@spizzlemethis One things for sure is she’s not a girl’s girl #fyp #weirdo #girlsgirl ♬ original sound - empeezeeeeee

Viewers immediately came to @spizzlemethis' defense, saying her ex-friend's behavior was strange. "She knew what she was doing!" one comment says. "Def not a girls' girl, why would she block you but keep him as a friend?"

A comment with over 16,000 likes says, "She absolutely was shooting her shot, hoping to get in as the supportive friend. She was probably never your friend, unfortunately."

The Daily Dot reached out to @spizzlemethis via TikTok direct message.

She told the Daily Dot, "I think she had every right to message him and not me when we were separated and she had every right to block me on social media."

"What made me uncomfortable was to go on to comment on pictures of my kids while having me blocked," she added. "I don't condone any hate towards her or anyone else."

In a viral clip, a wife said her friend DMed her husband during their separation. Viewers weigh in on whether the behavior was appropriate.

‘They always try to haggle like we’re at the flea market’: Kmart worker mocks customers who ask ‘dumb’ questions https://www.dailydot.com/news/kmart-worker-mocks-customer-questions/ Thu, 16 Nov 2023 02:30:00 +0000 https://www.dailydot.com/?p=1434007 Kmart worker and shopper with caption "How workers really wanna respond to customers" (l) Kmart building with sign (c) Kmart worker and shopper with caption "How workers really wanna respond to customers" (r)

A Kmart worker posted a viral video mocking customers who ask unoriginal and common questions. Other retail workers leave their customer experience stories in the comments section.

Since posting it on Thursday, TikToker and Kmart worker Waol (@itswaol) has received 901,000 views and over 95,000 likes on his video.

The clip includes an on-screen caption that reads, "How workers really wanna respond to customers."

In the video, the person behind the camera roleplays a customer as Waol, dressed in a Kmart uniform, plays the worker.

"Hey, excuse me, do you know how much this is?" the customer asks Waol while holding a Monopoly box.

Waol takes the box from the customer and says, "I'm not a f*cking genius, but it usually says it where you grab it."

Next, he walks over to the section of the aisle where the Monopoly games are shelved. "Did you grab it here?" Waol asks the fake customer. "Yeah," the customer responds.

"Yeah, it clearly says $25," Waol says while pointing to the shelf where the customer found the game. "Like, is there something wrong with you?"

In another scene, the customer finds Waol again to ask about the price of an electric scooter. "Hey, excuse me, mate. Online it says $70. Why is it $79?" he asks, pointing to the price tag on the shelf.

"I'm sorry, I don't know why that is," Waol responds. "You should really fix that," the customer says.

Next, Waol jokes, "I really should," before remarking, "It's not like I own the f*cking company, do I?"

"If it's so cheap online," Woal adds, "why don't you just get it online? Cheap f*ck.”

@itswaol #fyp ♬ original sound - Waol

Viewers found Waol's video humorous and agreed that retail workers frequently have to suffer through pointless questions.

A fellow retail worker commented, "Someone once asked me to give them a discount on a discounted item."

"Do you work here? No, I just casually like to wear the Kmart uniform," a second viewer joked.

Another sympathized, writing, "For real, they ask about the website like I designed the damn thing."

‘The way he was smirking’: Boyfriend lets girlfriend sleep outside his dorm in 45-degree weather. Was he wrong? https://www.dailydot.com/news/boyfriend-let-girlfriend-sleep-outside-dorm-in-cold/ Wed, 15 Nov 2023 22:30:32 +0000 https://www.dailydot.com/?p=1434135 woman speaking with caption "while he let his girl sleep in a cold car outside of his dorm" (l) TikTok couple livestream with woman greenscreened over it (c) woman speaking with caption "while he slept cozily in the bed" (r)

After a viral video of a boyfriend who let his girlfriend sleep outside in her car went viral, viewers chimed in giving their take on the situation. Most think she should leave her boyfriend, others say she’s a supportive partner.

Abi (@abiakharoh) posted a TikTok video explaining her opinion and has received over 1.9 million views and 283,000 likes by Wednesday morning. She captioned her video, “Stay safe ladies.”

At the start of Abi’s video, she plays a clip from the original video posted by the girlfriend, Tahlia. Tahlia has since deleted her videos.

In the clip, Tahlia explains that she didn’t care that her boyfriend had her sleep outside in her car. She says, “I didn’t even like ask him, because he has a game,” referring to her boyfriend, “I don’t really care, and I didn’t know I was going to be cold.” Tahlia says her boyfriend had a football game the next day and didn’t want to wake him up.

Next, Tahlia’s boyfriend chimes in and says, “See, and just for her doing that, that just shows you how much I appreciate her and how much she appreciates me.” He adds that since he had a big game the next morning Tahlia wanted him to get good sleep, by himself.

After the screen-recorded clip of Tahlia and her boyfriend ends, Abi starts by saying, “Bro, these are the literal type of dudes I’ve been trying to tell y’all to stay away from.”

Abi shares the backstory to Tahlia’s video if viewers haven’t seen it. She says that in the original video, Tahlia drove 5 hours to go and see her boyfriend. “The whole controversy of the video came from the fact that in the middle of the night one of the RA’s came and was like, she can’t be in there because visitation hours are up,” Abi explains.

“Apparently he had like a big football game the next day,” she adds, “So my good sis, did some ride or die sh*t, and went to go sleep in her car in 45-degree weather.”

Then Abi says Tahlia explained the situation as “uncomfortable,” and was shivering and couldn’t sleep. “The worst part is he physically walked her to the car, left her there, and then went back to his dorm,” Abi adds.

She says viewers on Tahlia’s original video were saying that the boyfriend should have slept in the car with her. “So this was the apology video,” Abi adds, referring to the first clip.

Abi says she respects that the boyfriend “acknowledged what he did wrong,” but she thinks the video was “very side-eye ish.” She feels like the boyfriend made the video more-so to clear his name, rather than being genuinely apologetic.

“But yeah, what do y’all think?” Abi asks before ending her video.

A comment with over 40,000 likes admits, “I would have suddenly gotten the energy to go home.”

Another says, “We woulda either got a hotel or been in in that car together.” This comment received over 47,000 likes.

“SISTER STAND UP!!!!” one says. “If he wanted to, he would,” another adds.

In another reaction video, Shaquill (@goofyassguidelines) explains the backstory of Tahlia’s video again. His TikTok reached over 497,000 views and 69,000 likes by Wednesday morning.

In Shaquill’s video, he also thinks it’s “too late,” for an apology video. “She already turned off all her comments,” he adds, “but listen, you can’t do your girl like that.”

Shaquill says the boyfriend had 3 options. “A, try to sneak her back in the dorm or B, get a hotel, if you’re a broke college kid, try to do something, and C, if you got some family in the area or at the very least,” he adds, “you gotta sleep in the car with her.”

He laughs, and says, “You cannot walk out of the dorm and say, damn, it’s cold as f*ck out here, alright see you later, goodnight,” then let her sleep in the car. “That’s crazy,” he adds.

Next he tells the boyfriend that he is “catching so much heat because that’s f*cked up,”

“If you would have at least slept in the car with her,” Shaquill says, “you wouldn't have been looked at.”

Shaquill brings up a different perspective on the situation and says, “I guess these are the pains, trials, and tribulations you gotta go through when you’re dating a football player and you think they’re gonna make it to the NFL.”

He thinks this is could be why Tahlia was unfazed by the situation. “I don’t know if that’s her actual mindset but I’m just saying this is f*cking crazy, you at least gotta sleep in the car with shorty,” Shaquill says before ending his video.

In Shaquill’s comment section, most viewers highlight the fact Tahlia’s boyfriend walked her out to her car. The top comment on his video with over 13,000 likes says, “bro said it’s cold asf out here, you be safe tho.”

“How to be single 101,” another comment admits.

Tahlia (@tahliaablairrr) posted a response video, but has turned off access to the comment section. She says she is thankful for viewers' concern, but explained her boyfriend could not sleep in the car with her, because he had a curfew in his dorm due to being a student-athlete. She also emphasizes that “it’s normal as an adult to sleep in your car sometimes.”

‘The Cheesecake Factory is pure luxury’: What is the Cheesecake Factory rule? https://www.dailydot.com/news/cheesecake-factory-rule/ Wed, 15 Nov 2023 10:30:00 +0000 https://www.dailydot.com/?p=1433457 Man eating food(l), Cheesecake Factory(c), Woman talking(r)

A TikTok of a couple having dinner at The Cheesecake Factory went viral after the girlfriend shared that her boyfriend doesn't know the "Cheesecake Factory rule." Viewers said they'd never heard of the rule before either.

As of publication, Kara (@karasfadess) has received over 4.9 million views and 335,000 likes on her video.

In the clip, Kara and her boyfriend are seated at the Cheesecake Factory on a dinner date. "Do you like The Cheesecake Factory?" Kara asks. "Mhmm," her boyfriend responds while chowing down on his meal.

The video includes on-screen text that reads, "My bf doesn't have social media so he has no idea about the cheesecake factory rule." In the clip's caption, Kara adds, "Why is the cheesecake factory so good tho."

@karasfadess Why is the cheesecake factory good tho 😭 #firstdate #cheesecakefactory #viral ♬ original sound - Kara Vera LV Barber

Viewers immediately fled the comments section to ask what the Cheesecake Factory rule is.

The rule stemmed from a different viral video of a list of 28 places women say they won't go on a first date, with Cheesecake Factory being included alongside Olive Garden, Waffle House, and Applebee's.

"Cheesecake Factory is expensive asf, I would be so grateful," one commenter said.

Another admitted, "I must be getting old, I always considered the Cheesecake Factory a nicer place than the average restaurant."

Being that the "first-date rule" began on social media, another commenter wrote, "I have social media and don't know the Cheesecake factory rule…?" This comment received 13,000 likes and 44 replies.

One commenter who replied explained, "It's not a 'rule,' there was this lady who refused to get out of her date's car cause he took her to the cheesecake factory and was not happy." This comment was referring to another viral video that made headlines recently and seems to have sparked the list of 28 unacceptable first-date locations.

"Never eat there? That's the best Cheesecake Factory rule," one commenter said in agreement with the idea.

However, many viewers disagree with the "rule" and feel Cheesecake Factory is not only acceptable but also rather expensive.

"Let the man enjoy his food and your company don't let the media change your mind about cheesecake factory," one viewer wrote.

"3 people two appetizers, 3 meals, 3 single slices of cheesecake and 20$ tip : 164$ Cheesecake Factory rule is INSANE," another said.

‘It can happen anywhere’: Good Times at Davey Wayne’s customer says he was roofied after drinking espresso martini https://www.dailydot.com/news/roofie-espresso-martini/ Wed, 15 Nov 2023 00:30:00 +0000 https://www.dailydot.com/?p=1433186 Man talking(l+r), Martini being poured(c)

A customer at Good Times at Davey Wayne’s in Los Angeles shared his story about getting roofied after drinking an espresso martini. His video went viral as he hopes to spread the word about drinking safety.

Ujjwal (@its.ujj) on TikTok has reached over 508,000 views and 64,000 likes on his video by Tuesday morning.

Ujjwal starts his video saying that he was roofied while at a work event in L.A.

He says he is hesitant to tell his story because it was a somewhat-traumatic experience for him, but he figured it was the most responsible thing to do.

“If it can prevent it from happening to even one other person then fine, the embarrassment is worth it,” he says.

Giving context, Ujjwal says he had worked on an album that was having a release party at the popular Hollywood bar, Good Times at Davey Wayne’s.

Next he explains that since he worked on the project, himself and the rest of the crew received wristbands that gave them free drinks for the entire night.

Ujjwall says that as people started to rush into the party, he and another friend realized they were starting to feel tired. He calls his friend Stella in the video for anonymity reasons.

“Instead of leaving and being lame, we decided to go to the bar and get espresso martinis to wake up,” he adds. After getting their drinks, he says they returned back to a section of the bar with the rest of their friends.

He says Stella went off with a couple of her friends, and this is when the whole group started to fragment. “Stella’s been gone for like 30 minutes, I’ve been at the section the whole time,” he explains, “our drinks are like thoroughly mixed up at this point.”

Ujjwall says he didn’t know whose drink it was, but he had been standing by them the entire time. He realizes that neither he nor Stella paid for the drinks, so decided to just finish both of them.

At this point, Ujjwal says Stella had been taken home by some friends because she was found “foaming at the mouth,” and was unconscious. “Her friends took her home, watched her all night, and made sure she was OK,” he adds. He says Stella ended up being alright, but it was a very scary situation.

@its.ujj suffice to say my worldview was altered significantly that night. #storytime #goodtimesatdaveywaynes ♬ original sound - Ujjwal

Ujjwal didn’t know at the time that Stella had left early, he only found out the next morning.

So, after downing the two espresso martinis, Ujjwal says he makes it through four songs once the album was released at the party, but can’t remember anything after that.

The next thing he remembers is waking up in his bed the next day around 1:00pm. “I have absolutely no recollection of how I got there, when I left, what has transpired in between,” he says. “I’m very, very anxious suddenly.”

He says he shoots up in his bed, and realizes that he doesn’t feel hungover. “I blacked out, but I feel completely fine,” he adds. Then he looks around his room, and sees that he had thrown up over his mirror, shelves, and carpet. “It’s a mess in there,” he adds.

Ujjwal says he began to freak out at this point, and starts to call all of his friends. This is when he found out about what happened to Stella as well.

According to Ujjwal, his friends said, “We think that somebody put something in her drink, why else would she have responded this way?”

To which he responds saying it must have been the espresso martinis because he had some of the same drink, and blacked out around 30 minutes to an hour later.

“So now, what do I do with this information?” Ujjwal says in the video. “First of all, I’m never going to Good Times and Davey Wayne’s again, I mean why would I?” he says.

Ujjwal adds that he isn’t sure if it was the bartenders or the bar themselves, or just another patron at the bar, but he still won’t be going back.

“I don’t know who could’ve done it cause I was around that drink the whole time that it existed, and I never noticed anything,” he says.

After this, Ujjwal explains that “every single woman listening to this right now already knows this, but this is for men.”

“Do not drink a drink if you haven’t seen it poured, if it hasn’t been in your hand, if you don’t know every single thing that’s in it, don’t drink it.” he adds.

He says what could've happened to him and Stella in that situation could’ve been much worse, had he not been there with friends who made sure he got home safely.

“None of my friends even knew that I was inebriated like that by that way,” he adds. His friends told him he kept repeating “I’m so drunk,” the whole night, and they had been annoyed by it because they thought he was “just being drunk,” Ujjwal says he thinks he was trying to figure out what was going on, and it was “a cry for help most likely.”

Ujjwal captioned his video, “suffice to say my worldview was altered significantly that night.”

After posting his original video, Ujjwal posted a second video addressing some of the comments viewers left.

@its.ujj (part 2) in response to many of the comments ive gotten since I posted my story about me and my friend getting roofed while at #goodtimesatdaveywaynes #storytime ♬ original sound - Ujjwal

First he says, “I’m really sad reading all the comments because there’s well over 1,000 of them at this point, and almost half of them are stories about other women having the same experience.”

“I knew this was a thing,” he adds, “and I am acutely aware of it after having it happen to me, but I did not think that it would be so widespread.”

He says he got a lot of comments saying his friends shouldn’t have been annoyed with the way he was acting that night. “I want to defend them real quick,” Ujjwal says. He says these are his closest friends in the world and they have seen him drunk various amounts of times. “If they could not tell that something was off, it obviously was not readily apparent to them, and having not known what was going on they did the right thing,” he adds.

Next, he says he got a lot of comments telling him to check the cameras at the bar as well as reporting the bar. “We did that the next day,” he says, "We asked them to look into the cameras and I never heard back from the bar.” Ujjwal was speaking to the bar through the event organizer, not the bar directly.

“They never got back to me,” he adds, “and I can’t assume anything because to be honest it was very very dark in there, and there were a ton of people in there.” He says it would be a miracle if something was found on the cameras.

The Daily Dot reached out to Ujjwal via TikTok direct message. Ujjwal says, “This sort of subject matter isn’t very TikTok friendly/algorithm friendly and I was pretty surprised to see that this got a lot of views.”

He also adds that he’s “not saying this is the only reason, but I do think people tend to listen more when this sort of thing happens to a guy as opposed to a woman.” He says it “really shocked me to see how many of the 1000+ comments on my video are from women recounting their own experience being roofied.”

Ujjwal says that he got a private message from one person in particular who mentioned getting roofied at the same bar. “She was found unconscious on the bathroom floor and woke up in the hospital the next day covered in bruises,” he says.

‘Did you SEE the way she smirked?’: Taylor Swift sings ‘Labyrinth’ on returning Eras Tour. Swifties say it’s a message to Travis Kelce https://www.dailydot.com/news/taylor-swift-labyrinth-eras-tour-travis-kelce/ Fri, 10 Nov 2023 22:30:00 +0000 https://www.dailydot.com/?p=1431687 Taylor Swift sings 'Labyrinth' at returning Eras Tour stop. Fans think it's a message to Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift returned to the stage for the Eras Tour on Thursday night in Buenos Aires, shocking fans with the chosen surprise songs of the night.

After performing the first surprise song, “The Very First Night” from her album Red (Taylor’s Version), she began playing “Labyrinth” off her album Midnights on the piano. Swifties immediately took over social media relating a line from "Labyrinth" to Swift’s new relationship with Travis Kelce.

Jake Shane, die-hard Swiftie and social media-star, posted a viral TikTok explaining fans’ theory over why Swift chose to sing "Labyrinth" on her first night back on tour.

Jake’s video has reached over 920,000 views and 164,000 likes in the past 16 hours. He frequently uses his TikTok (@octopusslover08) and Instagram platform (@passthatpuss) to connect with other Swifties about fan-based theories.

https://www.tiktok.com/@octopusslover8/video/7299656254572612907

Jake captioned his video, “I AM FREAKING OUT.” He says that Taylor singing "Labyrinth" as one of the first surprise songs back is amazing because of the first two-lines of the chorus.

The lines are, “Uh oh, I'm falling in love, Oh no, I'm falling in love again.”

After singing the words in his video, he raises his voice and emphasizes, “CAUSE SHE’S FALLING IN LOVE WITH TRAVIS KELCE.”

Other fans agreed and left comments under Jake’s video reacting to Swift’s facial expressions when singing these lines. “Did you SEE the way she smirked?!?!” one comment read.

“The way she was like, I wanna tell all my besties about this,” another says.

“Singing labyrinth tonight was a CHOICE and I’m not mad about it,” a comment with over 16,000 likes says.

“She gave us the CLEAREST message, I’m so happy for her,” another says.

One TikTok creator, @addiekingg, posted a close-up video of Swift singing the beloved surprise song so you could see her facial expressions.

Swifties are well-known for creating theories about the real meanings behind her lyrics. One theory that a Swiftie mentioned under Jake’s video was about the other surprise song Swift sang last night, "The Very First Night."

“THE VERY FIRST NIGHT LYRICS,” the comment says, “and so it was, we never saw it comin’, not tryin’ to fall in love, but we did like children runnin '.”

Jake has posted various other viral videos relating to Taylor Swift theories. Just recently after the release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version), Jake posted a video with his best friend and fellow Swiftie, Brett Chody (@brettsbites), explaining a theory behind one of Swift’s new 1989 vault tracks, “Is It Over Now?”

The theory is that when the new song “Is It Over Now” has a lyrical-break, it sounds like the bridge to another one of Swift’s songs, “Out Of the Woods.” Jake’s video is a heart-warming clip of him and Brett singing the two songs together, while seeming to be happier than ever.

https://www.tiktok.com/@octopusslover8/video/7298826866033577259

Swifties agreed with this theory in the comment section. “Wow I’m convinced that this song was an extension of Out Of The Woods,” one says.

Another Swiftie theory stemming from the release of the same vault track is that the song could be about Swift’s short-lived relationship with Harry Styles in 2013.

Jake posted another viral video reaching over 1.9 million views of him and his roommates reacting to the song for the very first time on release night. In the video, Jake and his roommates react to the line, “Red blood, white snow, blue dress, on a boat.”

https://www.tiktok.com/@octopusslover8/video/7294503401856044334

Taylor Swift liked the video on her own TikTok account, leaving Jake speechless

The theory is that the line in Jake’s video is about Styles, due to a picture of Taylor spotted on a boat, in a blue dress, the day fans speculate the two stars ended their relationship.

Recently, Jake was featured in People magazine, earning the No. 14 spot on the “Sexiest Swifties of the Year" list.

He was featured in People after attending the Eras Tour at the SoFi Stadium for multiple nights in a row. Jake was in the audience at the show when Swift announced the release of 1989 Taylor’s Version

He posted another viral video of his live reaction to this announcement. The album happened to be released on Jake’s birthday, Oct. 27.

https://www.tiktok.com/@octopusslover8/video/7294306402800061738

“I screamed so hard I gagged at the announcement,” a Swiftie commented on Jake’s video, validating his reaction.

When asked about the theories regarding Swift and Kelce, Jake told the Daily Dot, “Anything that makes Taylor happy makes me happy. She is everything, and I will dedicate my life to cheering her on.”

‘He wrote down the answer and put it in one of the rolls’: Texas Roadhouse manager says there’s a sign-up sheet for frozen rolls. Here’s the right time to sign up https://www.dailydot.com/news/texas-roadhouse-frozen-rolls-signup-sheet-for-holidays/ Fri, 10 Nov 2023 21:38:34 +0000 https://www.dailydot.com/?p=1431670 Texas Roadhouse manager says there’s a sign-up sheet for frozen rolls. Here’s the right time to sign up

A Texas Roadhouse manager told a customer about the apparently secret signup sheet for frozen rolls during the holidays. He posted a viral TikTok video exposing the restaurant's secret.

Jordan (@jordan_the_stallion8) has reached over 7.6 million views, 804,000 likes, and 2500 comments on her video by Friday. Viewers say the frozen-roll signup sheet varies by location.

Jordan’s viral video was a stitched video with the original creator Kayla, @perkinsonparkway, who went viral this week with a hack: Buy frozen rolls from Roadhouse for Thanksgiving. After hearing this, Jordan had to go to the restaurant and find out for himself if this was even possible.

In his video, he is standing in the bathroom with a box of fully-cooked, hot rolls. He starts by saying he had no idea that Texas Roadhouse sold frozen rolls. He was intrigued, and went to the restaurant and ordered regular rolls. After receiving his to-go order, he asked an employee, “Hey, do you guys sell frozen rolls here?”

Jordan says the employee looked at him and said, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

The Roadhouse manager happened to overhear their conversation.

“The manager looked at me as if I just was from outer space,” Jordan says, “He walked up to me.”

Jordan says he was told by the manager that they do sell frozen rolls. He asked the manager how he can get the rolls because he thinks it is a “genius idea.”

Jordan says the manager told him they only sell frozen rolls during the holidays if people don’t want to make their own rolls for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.

“But there’s a sign-up sheet,” Jordan adds that the manager told him.

When Jordan asked how to sign-up, he said the manager told him you have to come in-person or call your local store.

“Well, when is the sign-up date?” Jordan asked.

https://www.tiktok.com/@jordan_the_stallion8/video/7299266195658640670

While picking up a roll from his to-go box and showing the camera, Jordan tells the audience, “He wrote down the answer and put it in one of the rolls.”

“I said 'Your secret’s safe with me,'” he says.

“So let’s see when it actually is,” he says before opening the small note that was placed inside one of the rolls.

“The week before Thanksgiving, go try it out,” Jordan says, ending his video.

Viewers find humor in Jordan’s approach to getting this information to his audience.

One comment with over 49,000 likes read, “The secret was not safe with you.”

“YOU PROMISED HIM HE TRUSTED YOU,” another comment with over 36,000 likes says.

Other viewers have already started trying to get frozen rolls. “I hope they know I will be ordering an obscene amount like I’m preparing to hibernate,” one viewer jokes.

A Texas Roadhouse worker said, “I work at Roadhouse and I know each location is different but we can sell them anytime of year, so it never hurts to ask your server!”

Another worker complained and said, “I’m a carryout manager at Texas Roadhouse and I’m already dreading the Wednesday before Thanksgiving so bad, why did you have to do this.”

‘I literally did everything I could’: Server waits on man she had 2 dates with, and his wife. Here’s how she made it ‘as awkward as possible’ https://www.dailydot.com/news/server-waits-on-her-date-and-his-secret-wife/ Fri, 10 Nov 2023 05:00:00 +0000 https://www.dailydot.com/?p=1430964 Server waits on man she had 2 dates with, and his wife. Here's how she made it 'as awkward as possible'

A server says she found out the man she was seeing had a wife after they came into the restaurant she worked at to celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary.

To make matters more awkward, the couple was seated at one of her tables, so she had to wait on them all night. She said she did everything she could to make the man feel uncomfortable, but after posting a viral storytime video on TikTok, viewers think she should’ve taken her revenge a step further.

In her video, which was viewed over 19,000 times in under a day, Cassey (@casseysjourney) says she met the man at a bar. They exchanged phone numbers, went on two dates, and continued talking.

“But then he brings his wife into the restaurant that I worked at,” she says.

Cassey says the man didn’t know she worked there. “The universe intervened, and I just happened to be given their table,” she says.

Cassey says that after the couple was seated in her section, the man appeared sweating and nervous. “I realized that I have the upper hand in the situation,” she says.

She says she did everything she could to “make it as awkward as possible” for him.

“I complimented his wife,” she says. “I told her how beautiful she was, because she was.”

Cassey says she asked the wife how long the two had been together. “‘Oh, this is our fourth wedding anniversary,’” she recalls his wife telling her.

Cassey makes a shocked face while looking at the camera. “So this woman had substantial time invested in this man, OK?” she says.

Cassey says she told her co-workers about what was happening and they made “it a point to just stare this man down everytime they walked by the table.”

“I’m just looking at him, shaking my head,” Cassey demonstrates.

Cassey says she wrote “Happy Wedding Anniversary” on a card to give to them at the end of their meal and dropped the check off at the table.

“‘You have such an amazing wife, I hope you guys have the greatest marriage ever,’” she recalls telling the man. “‘Make sure you come see me next year. We’ll do it again.’”

Cassey says she believes the man was waiting for her to expose him the whole time and that she refrained from doing so because “I didn’t want to do that to her.”

Cassey says the man tipped her 100% for their meal that night. “We all joked that that was like his hush money,” she adds.

She ends her video by saying that she’s been going to her usual bars and hasn’t seen the man since. “I guess he learned his lesson,” she says.

https://www.tiktok.com/@casseysjourney/video/7299090463955406126

Some viewers criticized Cassey for her decision to not tell the wife. “So you just didn’t do anything to help her,” TikToker @kedvicious3 said.

“You had the opportunity to save her possible years of wasted time with him…should have told her. I regret the wasted time,” @jilly.w4 added.

Cassey made a follow-up video in response to the critics.

“Y’all have to remember I’m at my place of work at this time, OK?” she says.

Defending herself, Cassey says she’s a newly single mom of three, just moved into an apartment, and could not afford to lose her job. “Had circumstances been different, and we ran into each other at the bar somewhere,” Cassey says she would have outed him.

“I didn’t wanna risk a scene,” she adds.

Cassey emphasizes that she understands the viewers' frustrations because this happened to her in her previous marriage. “But again,” she says, “I didn’t want to make it more complicated.”

One viewer came to Cassey’s defense, saying, “You handled it perfectly for the situation. I really hope that the wife has seen this now.”

Another supporter said, “How you handled it was the right way, it gave him something to think about when he left the restaurant.”
