While many people complain about paper straws, one man says a bartender gave him a straw as tall as a person.

“Why’d they give me this long a*s straw at the bar,” TikTok user Marquis Patrick (@grandadgalactic) wrote. The video showed Patrick with a long black straw in a glass of water.

As Kanye West’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” played, Patrick highlighted the length of the straw by showing it from different angles, such as sitting on the floor while standing and sipping from it and on top of a bench that Patrick stood on. 

As many people could guess, Patrick didn’t actually get the straw from a bartender. He confirmed in another video that he brought the straw himself. 

But that didn’t stop people from being amused. By Monday, the video had amassed over 248,800 views and many comments. 

“I appreciate all the camera angles,” one wrote. “The pics are sending me LMAO,” another added. 

A third dared Patrick to put the straw in someone else’s drink. “Sip someone else’s drink from across the bar,” they wrote with a laughing emoji. 

Patrick took the person up on their dare by recording himself reaching the straw into a random woman’s drink. 

“Her faceeeeee lmfao,” a user pointed out the woman’s unhappy expression. “Did you get banned,” joked another.

Patrick uploaded a third video to update viewers on his night out with the straw.

He gave the night a rating of 8.8 out of 10. “Mission success,” he wrote.

With single-use plastic banned in many states, bars and restaurants may start to see more people bringing their own straws from home. That’s because many people aren’t pleased with the replacement: paper straws. People find them to be too soft and prone to sogginess. 

In an article by USA Today, author Courtney Campbell writes, “Paper straws have this bizarre, almost rubbery mouthfeel to them followed by the taste of wet paper.”

Other social media posts on the topic have gone viral, like this Reddit thread and this TikTok.

"This is Cordyceps, the zombie fungus, and I grew it off my own blood and skin," he says in the video, which has more than 484,000 views.

He offers a close-up view of the specimen, and it certainly looks eerily like some of the images from The Last of Us.

He puts some of his skin sample under a microscope, which is indeed "absolutely disgusting."

He claims that the Cordyceps are now growing on the skin sample. Then, he eats one of the Cordyceps. (They are edible if grown in the right conditions.)

Predictably, the comments are filled with people raising red flags about this experiment:

"Bro trynna speedrun the last of us," one person said.

Others chimed in: "If you look closely you can see how it looks like you really weren't supposed to do that," another chimed in. One person said the TikToker will be "patient zero."

In a TikTok posted on Thursday, Bella (@bellaamtz) captured her father Jorge's reaction when he learned that the combination shampoo-and-conditioner product he had been using on his hair was for dogs.

The product's packaging has a paw print on it.

Bella's TikTok videos focus on her dad's reactions to pranks and other life occurrences.

In general, dog shampoo shouldn't be used on human hair because it is formulated with a pH level for dogs—not humans—and it is less effective.

Commenters on Bella's video thought that her video about her father's bottle of dog shampoo was as funny as the people who laughed at his reaction in person.

In a TikTok posted yesterday, @ThatProjectorGuy shows himself projecting The Emoji Movie on the side of a house, which he says is his former landlord's. The TikToker also says that the landlord kicked him out of his apartment and took all of his belongings.

The user has previously said he projected Shrek and Bee Movie to get the landlord's attention.

While it's unclear why @thatprojectorguy was kicked out of his apartment, his landlord could be holding his property as collateral to get him to pay his rent—but only if @thatprojectorguy agreed to that sort of consequence in his lease.

That said, his landlord could be holding the TikToker's property illegally depending on the situation.

Many commenters on @thatprojectorguy's video praised The Emoji Movie, while others inquired about his situation with his landlord.

A dad on TikTok was served a lesson on childhood trauma after he filmed himself throwing cake at a toddler as a joke. 

User @garbagemouth stitched their reaction to the viral video, which has been viewed more than 13,500 times by Tuesday. It shows the dad grabbing whipped cream from a plate of cake and throwing it at the face of a child beside him. 

The camera then pans to show a little girl covered in whipped cream.

The cake toss may have been a joke to the dad, but @garbagemouth believes that the painful moment could serve as the catalyst for childhood trauma later in life—and expensive therapy bills. 

“You know it’s amazing what a person can recall from their childhood that upset them or embarrass them or traumatize them,” the TikToker addressed the dad while using a lemon filter. 

They gave their own example from when they were around the same age as the little girl in the video.

“My father used to think it was hysterical to throw a blanket over my head and then pretend to trap me underneath it," they said.

The Daily Dot reached out to @garbagemouth via TikTok comment. 

What seemed like an innocent prank at the time later resulted in claustrophobia (extreme fear of confined spaces) for the TikTok user.

“If a blanket even accidentally goes over my head now as a fully grown adult, I get panicky, like I’m a child again,” they shared. “You embarrassed her. You know she’s a baby."

The TikToker then asked the dad in the video to reflect on his own childhood and the painful moments he remembers.

In the comments, viewers agreed with @garbagemouth’s assessment and were shocked at the dad’s actions toward an innocent toddler. 

“I don’t know why they thought this was funny,” a user wrote. “That poor child.”

“He threw that very hard also!” observed another. “The way I gasped. Why do people do that stuff?!” added a third.

But one man may have taken things to the extreme when he posted a video of himself allegedly sleeping in his ex’s bed while she was on vacation.

In a TikTok posted on Monday, Garrison (@garrison.kingg) shows himself in his ex-girlfriend’s bedroom with all the lights off.

Many commenters on Garrison’s video were worried about his behavior. Breaking into someone’s house could lead to aggravated misdemeanor penalties or felony penalties. If convicted, both charges could land someone years of jail time and fines. 

“Stalker who?” one user commented. “That‘s a crime,” wrote another.

“That’s actually insane,” a third wrote. A fourth commented, “I would call the cops and move away..”

One shared that this is a prime example of a toxic relationship. “If his like this I wont hesitate to call the police because this kind of toxic relationship that I don't want to experience in my life," the person said.

But there were some who wished that their ex had the same level of dedication.

“If he's not like this I don't want him,” user @katherine wrote. “I wish my ex would do this,” another commented.

Other users were horrified at people glorifying toxic behavior. “You all be saying if he ain't like this I don't want him but bro that's actually so scary,” a person stated.

A woman recently tweeted about her experience with every menstrual cup user’s biggest fear: The device broke into pieces while she was trying to remove it.

User @carolinaohcomer on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday said the "craziest thing" had just happened to her.

She then posted photos showing that the stem of her menstrual cup broke off from the silicone cup. She tagged the Saalt brand, which specializes in reusable period products, and asked for "financial compensation." (The Daily Dot reached out to @carolinaohcomer and Saalt.)

Other X users shared the shock and concern. "NO WAY," one commenter wrote.

Menstrual cups are gaining popularity for being environmentally friendly, convenient, and affordable, Healthline reports.

Made of soft medical-grade silicone, the stem of the Saalt Cup is made to be comfortable, according to the brand’s website. Some menstrual cup users choose to trim the stem, however, based on preference. Saalt advised that the stem should not be solely used to remove the cup.

“Use the stem as a guide to locate the grip rings and break the seal by pinching the base of the cup with your thumb and index finger,” its website reads. “Do not pull on the stem.”

Other users on X debunked myths about menstrual cup removal.

“Pro tip: You aren’t supposed to use the stem AT ALL. I cut mine all the way off the day I got it,” one user wrote.

“If you can, just pinch the base of the cup and rock it gently from side to side while pulling it down a little bit, that will help you remove the suction,” advised another user who said they have used menstrual cups for three years. “If the cup moved up and you can’t comfortably reach it with your fingers, you can help yourself with your stomach muscles by pushing downwards.”

Contrary to claims in the X thread, there is no clear evidence that using menstrual cups directly causes pelvic organ prolapse and damages the cervix.

Still, misusing a menstrual cup—such as removing it forcibly—can lead to pain and discomfort, gynecologist Dr. Anita Mitra said in an Instagram post.

In a TikTok posted on Friday, Farihat (@farihatt) says that she did her makeup "real cute" for her driver's license photo, but it came out completely dark—and many of her facial features aren't visible.

"I'm so mad I look like an unlocked character," Farihat wrote in her video's caption. "All you can see is my gloss and septum."

On Monday, Farihat's video had almost 18 million views.

In another TikTok, Farihat shows the makeup look she did for her license photo.

A woman on TikTok has internet users in stitches—and concerned—after she posted a video of herself saying she’s convinced that she got a concussion from hitting her head at a strip club. 

The viral video, which has been making the rounds on Twitter and TikTok, was originally posted by TikTok user Balie Mara (@baemar_). By Thursday, it’s drawn over 84,000 views. 

In it, there is a chaotic juxtaposition of two different events unfolding at once. At one end of the strip club, people are smiling, laughing, and enjoying the male strippers.

But at the other end, Balie is distraught with fear that she has a concussion. 

“Throwback to when I smacked my head at the club on a metal chair so hard that I was seeing stars,” Balie began in the text overlay. 

“Nobody believed me and i was too drunk to make it seem serious but I was so scared that I was sobbing bc nobody was taking me seriously and I thought I was gonna die in the strip club,” it continued. 

In the video, she asks her friend if she’s injured. 

“Do I have a concussion, I’m serious,” she screamed. The friend, the one who was recording, tried to reassure her. “He’s coming for you,” she said, in reference to one of the strippers. “He’s going to check.” 

The chaos of the video made it an instant hit with viewers who couldn’t stop laughing. 

 “I am losing it,” a person shared with laughing emojis. 

“PLSSS the way it keeps panning between you and the guy,” another observed. 

A third commented, “This is definitely one of those videos that’s funnier every time you watch it.” 

Viewers got a kick over the friend telling Balie that the male stripper was going to come over and check on her. “Her telling you the stripper is gonna come check is sendingggg me,” this other person commented. 

But some people found the video sad and said they wished that Balie’s health concerns were taken seriously.

A pair of Uber passengers had the ride of their life recently. But before takeoff—er, driving—they had to listen to a safety presentation from their Uber driver.

In a viral video that has amassed over 7.2 million views, TikToker Adi Azran (@heyitsadiazran) showed a man and a woman looking nervous in the backseat of an Uber car. The reason was disclosed on the text overlay: “Our Uber won’t drive till we hear the ‘car rules.’”

The video was captioned, “Bro thinks this is American Airlines” in reference to the safety presentations given on airplane flights. But this wasn’t a generic presentation; the Uber Driver livened things up by singing his “safety rules” to the tune of “God’s Plan” by Drake.

It showed him standing next to a graffiti wall as he sang, “Welcome to my Uber, please buckle for me” and, “No smoothing in the back, but you can cuddle with me,” followed by a high-pitched “Kidding. Extra charge!”

While the Uber driver sang along with his own song, the passengers in the back danced along to the catchy music.

Some of the “safety rules” were surprising, though, like how customers are allowed to smoke inside the car “like a chimney.” They aren’t, however, allowed to ask for the auxiliary cord because “he’s picky” about music. 

When the song got to the part about the complimentary water, the Uber driver tapped his hand above where the Fiji bottle sat. The presentation concluded with him asking for passengers to feed him if they stop somewhere for food.

“Now do you guys have any questions?” he asked afterward.

The people in the car didn’t say anything, but viewers had tons of questions and comments about what they had just seen.

“Did he say you can smoke like a chimney in there?” this user asked. “The way he's getting so hyped over his own mixtape every ride,” another observed.

“Honestly setting boundaries while having fun,” a third chimed in. 

A fourth brought up the possibility of the presentation becoming a full track. “Imagine it switches into the actual song as they drive off,” they wrote.

“The way he patted the seat to show the water,” another commented with crying emojis.

Those who loved the creativity believe that the Uber driver deserves 5 stars—and a huge tip.

“I wouldn’t even need him to take me anywhere I’d pay him just to watch that,” this person commented.

The video also reminded some of the airplane safety demos. Many have gone viral on TikTok, including this Jet Blue flight attendant who showed off an interpretive dance and another worker with passengers laughing over his animated facial expressions.
